The objective of this course is to provide the student with the necessary theoretical background for understanding the mechanics of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). The operation of MEMS devices typically involves coupling between mechanical, electrostatic and thermal effects. This course covers the physical background for solving such coupled problems at a Strength of Materials level.
