Course abstract. Modeling, identification, and exploration of nonlinear and chaotic dynamical systems using asymptotic methods and machine learning-based approaches. The objectives of this course are to provide useful analytical and data-driven tools for the analysis of real-world systems together with a deep physical understanding of the underlying nonlinear phenomena. Theoretical material is supported by a variety of experiments, videos, discussions, and demonstrations from various scientific and engineering fields. Moreover, essential technological skills are acquired by a dedicated Python programming workshop.

Class. Monday, 10:30 am – 1:30 pm, online synchronous Zoom lectures; each class will be recorded and posted. Full-text lecture notes and PowerPoint slides will be provided for all the lectures. Lectures will be given in English. However, assignments can be written in either English or Hebrew. The course is joint for undergraduates and graduate students. Weekly office hours will be held after each class.
